Do You Think The Modern Way Of Marketing Online Is The Best Way To Market Today?

It Is, But It’s Useless Without Old-School Marketing Skills Like Cold Calling, etc.

Before you start reading this post, I want to inform you that I am in no way reffering to any particular person in this company and  especially not to my team leaders. I wasn’t pressured into anything so that is not where I am coming from. My Sponsors are excellent mentors for me who taught me everything I know. I am a great fan of online marketing, and I love the fact that we can utilize the internet to grow our businesses but I would like to dispute the negative perception of old school marketing first. But Here We Go…

Modern marketing mentors are preaching Attraction Marketing. They are saying cold calling and chasing friends and family is the thing of the past. They will expose you to some awakening statistics how they generate hundreds of leads every single day without cold calling a single prospect. They teach you all about setting up your blog, optimizing it for search engines, writing articles and creating videos for back-links, creating auto-responder emails and so on.

The list of the required things to do keeps getting bigger as the competition is growing every day. They will sell you books and CD’s teaching you “all” you need to know about Attraction Marketing Strategies and Online marketing Strategies. Eventually you will really learn how to generate free or paid leads every day who will be bombarded with your follow-up emails. You will even have many of them calling you like they promised you and wanting to get in.

If you have experienced your business growth up to this point or farther, you know what I am talking about when I say there is one extremely important thing that’s left out, one very important skill. Your mentors didn’t tell you that either because they forgot they possess it and you need it too in order to succeed or they just don’t want too much competition.

Every single technique I mentioned above is mandatory to do in order to create success. Yes, you do need to have a branded capture page and an optimized blog for your leads to be sent to and you do need those follow up emails because they bring results even 2 or 4 weeks after somebody subscribed to your auto-responder, but that alone will not get you anywhere except you can start selling targeted leads to others.

In order to be able to convert that lead into a sale, most often you will have to talk to them on the phone, and if you never learned how to dominate a conversation over the phone or in person, you wasted you time and money on everything else you did up to this point. In order to bring key people aboard you have to talk better than your potential sale. I am not talking about hype; you just have to have the experience to know what and how to say it.

What your mentors didn’t tell you is that before they started marketing online, they were going door to door, chasing friends and family, cold calling and doing everything they are telling you is useless to do. Is ti really useless though? Isn’t how they acquired their skills to dominate a conversation? Isn’t it their communication skills that made you learn from them?

It is, isn’t it? So what is the solution, should every marketer who didn’t have any prior experience of offline marketing and cold calling leads forget about being successful online? NO, of course not. It is never too late to grab the yellow pages and start calling people you don’t know pitching them on your opportunity. Don’t even care if they join or not, in fact you are doing it just to acquire that skill of talking to people. Talk to a 1000-2000 people from yellow pages or any other directory, then you can convert your prospects into sales like a science.

That will give you the basic and advanced knowledge of talking to a prospect. After that you can grab the phone and you will be surprised when at least 2% of people you talk to from some directory will join your business.

In conclusion I want to say that modern marketing really is the only way to build Network Marketing business today, but not without the skills of old school marketing which you can easily acquire if you get your hands of a few pieces of valuable information guides.
